BREAKING: Advocates Hail End of the Controversial Los Angeles County PACE Program

Bet Tzedek is thrilled to announce that the County of Los Angeles has ended its controversial Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing program, which was intended to help Angelenos make energy-efficient home improvements but instead became a breeding ground for consumer fraud and abuse. For the last several years, Bet Tzedek has been inundated by calls from desperate homeowners at risk of losing their homes because of a PACE loan. We have consistently pressed for additional consumer protections and oversight, and we are gratified that County has made this decision to protect vulnerable and low-income homeowners by ending the County PACE program. We will continue to advocate for the City of Angeles and other entities to protect more Californians by ending their participation in non-County PACE programs.

Homeowners who have questions about PACE should call Bet Tzedek’s PACE intake line at 323-648-4715.
